| IMPORTANT EVACUATION TERMS |
<1. 避難場所・避難所(Hinan Basho/Hinan Jo) : Evacuation Site/Evacuation Shelter> An evacuation siteis used to secure one’s safety in the event of a disaster, such as an earthquake. Such sites include public city elementary, middle, and senior high schools, prefectural senior high schools, community centers, and parks over 1ha. Evacuation sheltersare locations that include facilities that allow for overnight stay. <2. 広域避難場所(Kouiki Hinan Basho) : Broad-Area Evacuation Shelter> Place used to secure one’s safety in the event of a large fire resulting from disasters such as earthquakes. Includes parks with large open space. <3. 広報無線設置場所(Kouhou Musen Secchi Basho) : Public Announcement Broadcast Location> Used by the city hall to broadcast important announcements and information to the public, in the event of a disaster. <4. 非常用井戸(Hijou You Ido) : Emergency Well> Located in each area base and middle school district to ensure the availability of drinking water. <5. 備蓄倉庫(Bichiku Souko) : Supply Storehouse> Supplies necessary for evacuees to live in the evacuation sites, including food, everyday necessities, and first aid equipment are stored here. |
