To protect your life and safety, Chiba City has designated emergency evacuation sites and evacuation shelters. Be prepared for disasters by confirming the location of your nearest “Designated Emergency Evacuation Sites” or “Designated Evacuation Shelter” in advance.
Designated emergency evacuation sites are facilities/areas such as parks and school indoor gymnasiums/school courtyards where you can temporarily secure your safety. (The possibility of evacuation to these sites is designated for each type of natural disaster.)
※Designated emergency evacuation sites have the following signs installed. (This photo is an example from Shinjuku Junior High School.)
Emergency evacuation shelters are facilities that can be used as temporary locations for living and lodging in the event that living spaces are lost, such as when housing is expected to be dangerous or has been damaged.
Broad-area evacuation sites are areas such as parks with enough open space to secure your safety from radiant heat or smoke in the event of a large fire.
