Montreux

A Resort Convention City Famous for its Jazz Festival and International Conferences

　Montreux is in the Lake Geneva area of the canton of Vaud, roughly an hour east of Geneva by a train that runs along the lake. 

The walking trails along Lake Geneva provide a spectacular view of Chillon Castle, which was built on a rocky outcropping and looks almost as if it were floating on the lake.

Montreux is also a convention city where many international conferences and events take place. Each July, the Montreux Jazz Festival attracts famous musicians from all over the world, making it a seasonal event for both locals and fans from all over the world. This area is rich in nature, and in addition to tourism, wine is an important industry, with vineyards spreading across the hills along the lake.
