Craggaunowen is a reconstruction of ancient dwelling places from the late Bronze to the early Iron Age. “King of the Town”, or “Puck King”. The goat then “rules” the town for the duration of the festival. A girl from the local primary school is also chosen as “Puck Queen”. It may seem a bit strange and extreme but don’t worry, the goat is actually treated like royalty, with plenty of food, water and bedding. Depending on the weather and temperature, the goat is also allowed to take breaks. The goat is also regularly checked on by a vet.
