You will need your residence card or special permanent residence certificate and your seal (or signature). (As required documents may vary among banks, please inquire at the bank for specific details.) Cash cards are ordinarily used to deposit and withdraw money at cash dispensers (CDs) and automated teller machines (ATMs).
The bank provides a cash card when an account is opened. A four-digit PIN number is registered with the bank so that the card can be used for withdrawals.
Remittances to another bank account can be made at the bank or post office. Cash can also be sent securely as registered mail.
Authorized foreign exchange banks are able to remit funds overseas. Methods for sending money include: remittance checks, wire transfers, and postal remittances. In the case of a remittance check, the bank prepares a special check used for remittances that you mail yourself. In the case of a wire transfer or postal remittance, the remittance documentation is sent to the recipient's bank by mail or electronically for the recipient to pick up at the bank.
Post offices conduct financial operations from 9時00分AM until 4時00分PM.
Procedures for overseas remittances are handled at most post offices that perform currency exchange. Remittance methods include postal money orders and telegraphic remittances. Telegraphic remittances are processed immediately online, making them convenient when speed is a consideration. For a remittance to the United States, after purchasing the remittance documentation, you can mail it with another postal order.
