红岳弁财天

泉润千叶地，社缘常胤氏
红岳弁财天是一家与千叶常胤非常有渊源的神社。传说常胤在祈祷子孙繁荣和福寿之后，梦见了财神弁财天，为此就把镰仓弁谷（现神奈川县镰仓市材木座）的弁财天迁移至此。
这个地方以前曾有泉水涌出，是葭川的水源之一，而葭川流过千叶后注入都川。在润泽千叶氏族领地千叶庄的水源边，供奉水神弁财天，可以想象当时常胤是多么希望千叶庄繁荣啊。
根据古老的记录，常胤与儿子胤政（胤正）都被称为“弁谷殿”，由此可以认为他们在镰仓是住在弁谷（《千学集拔萃》《镰仓志》）。常胤的职位是“介”，在中国古代又被称为“别驾”，常胤所住的山谷又被称为“别驾谷”，据说其发音后来出现讹音变为“弁谷”。“弁谷”又被写成“红谷”，为此，可以认为“红岳”这个名字是从“弁谷”转变而来的。

지바(千葉)씨의 본거지를 윤택하게하는 샘물에 모셔진 쓰네타네(常胤)와 연관이 있는 신사

베니타케(紅嶽) 벤자이텐(弁財天)은 지바 쓰네타네와 연관이 있는 신사입니다. 전해지는 이야기에 의하면, 쓰네타네가 자손의 번영과 행복, 장수를 기원하던 중, 꿈에서 벤자이텐(弁財天, 칠복신 중 하나인 풍요와 예능의 여신)이 나타났기 때문에 가마쿠라(鎌倉)의 벤가야쓰(弁谷) (현재의 가나가와현(神奈川県) 가마쿠라시(鎌倉市) 자이모쿠자(材木座))에 있던 벤자이텐을 이곳으로 옮겼다고 합니다.
이 지역에는 예전부터 샘물이 있었는데, 지바(千葉)의 마을을 지나 미야코가와(都川)강으로 흘러드는 요시가와(吉川)강의 근원 중 하나였습니다. 지바씨의 본래의 영지인 지바 사유지를 윤택하게하는 물의 근원으로 물의 신이기도 한 벤자이텐을 모신 것에서는 지바 사유지의 번영을 바라는 쓰네타네의 마음이 담겨져있습니다.
오래된 기록에 의하면, 쓰네타네와 정실이 낳은 아들 다네마사(胤政)는‘벤가야쓰 영주(벤가야쓰도노/弁谷殿)’라고 불렸다고 하며, 가마쿠라에서는 벤가야쓰에 저택을 마련했다고 전해지고 있습니다. (『천학집 발췌(센가쿠슈밧스이/千学集抜粋)』, 『가마쿠라지(가마쿠라시/鎌倉志)』) 쓰네타네의 직책인 ‘스케(介)’의 중국식 호칭인‘베쓰가(別駕)’에서 따와서 쓰네타네가 사는 습지대를‘베쓰가 습지대(베쓰가야쓰/別駕谷)’이라고 불렀는데, 이것이‘벤가야쓰(弁谷)’로 바뀌었다고 합니다. 또한‘벤가야쓰(弁谷)’는‘베니가야쓰(紅谷)’라고 쓰여지기도 해서,‘베니타케(紅嶽)’라는 이름은‘벤가야쓰(弁谷)’에서 유래되었다고 여겨집니다.

Benitake Benzaiten

A shrine associated with Chiba Tsunetane, which worshipped the spring water that flowed through the Chiba clan’s territory

Benitake Benzaiten is a shrine closely associated with Chiba Tsunetane. According to legend, when Tsunetane was praying for the prosperity and fortune of his descendants, the goddess Benzaiten came to him in a dream. Later, he moved the Benzaiten shrine that was located in Bengayatsu, Kamakura (currently Zaimokuza in Kamakura City, Kanagawa Prefecture) to this location.

There used to be a spring in this area. It was one of the sources of the Yoshikawa River, a river which flows into the Miyako River, and ran through the town of Chiba. The fact that Benzaiten, who is also the goddess of water, was revered at the Chiba no sho (the Chiba Estate), which was the main domain of the Chiba clan, brings images of Tsunetane praying for the prosperity of the Chiba Estate to mind.

According to old records, Tsunetane and his heir, Tanemasa, were referred to as “Bengayatsu dono” (Lord Bengayatsu) and it was believed that they had a mansion in Bengayatsu in Kamakura (Sengakushubassui, Kamakurashi). It is said that the name “Bengayatsu” came from “Betsugayatsu,” the valley that Tsunetane resided in, which had its name come from the Chinese appellation of Tsunetane’s administrative position, suke (“assistant director”; its Chinese equivalent was biejia, which is read in Japanese as betsuga). Additionally, “Bengayatsu” (弁谷) can also be written as紅谷 (benigayatsu), and the name Benitake (紅嶽) is believed to have come from Bengayatsu (弁谷).
